SICC Embarks On Record Breaking Culinary Endeavour With Asia Book Of Records

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) is hosting the “Taste of The World” Ramadan Dinner Buffet, featuring an impressive array of 850 dishes that highlight the richness of global cuisine.

This event, running from 15 March to 9 April, offers guests a unique opportunity to explore diverse culinary delights and immerse themselves in a feast for the senses.

Whether it’s traditional Ramadan specialties or international flavors, the dinner buffet promises to delight and satisfy every palate. Datuk Dr Rosmawati Lasuki, J.P., Chief Executive Officer, expressed excitement about the event, stating, “Our ‘Taste of The World’ Ramadan Dinner Buffet is designed to reflect the cultural richness and diversity of flavours from around the globe.

Our dedicated team has gone above and beyond to curate an experience that pays homage to traditional Ramadan dishes while incorporating innovative and international elements to delight our guests.

” In conjunction with the Ramadan Dinner Buffet, SICC is making history by attempting to set the Asia Book of Records for “Maximum Dishes Prepared by International Cuisines.”

The record-setting endeavour will be led by Chef Mohd Firdaous Mohd Izhar, Director of F&B Operations, and his team of 70 culinary experts.

The adjudication for this monumental attempt is scheduled for 4 April. The Asia Book of Records serves as a prestigious platform where record holders from major national record-keeping entities converge to compare, compete, and claim regional titles.

With over 40,000 entries in its database, the Asia Book of Records recognizes exceptional achievements across diverse fields.

Rosmawati emphasized the significance of participating in such a monumental feat, stating, “Participating in such a monumental feat fosters community engagement and a sense of pride among our staff, vendors, and partners.

It encourages collaboration and creativity while showcasing the cultural richness of our community.” This record-breaking endeavour not only signifies SICC’s commitment to culinary excellence but also underscores its mission to showcase cultural richness while fostering community engagement and pride among patrons, staff, vendors, and partners alike.
