KOTA KINABALU: Potholes problem plaguing residents of Kampung Kopungit here was finally resolved after its newly appointed JPKK chairman Charles Gokin took the initiative to seek funds from nominated assemblyman Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee.
Charles said the potholes in Jalan Bukit Perwira, Kg Kopungit has been worsening and residents on the upper part of the village had to endure difficulty to avoid getting a dent on their vehicles whenever driving through the section.

He said he and his committee had previously made a complaint to the authorities but was informed that the road was neither under the Public Works Department (PWD) nor City Hall care.
So they decided to write to Yong applying for funding to purchase asphalt while they do the the repairs through gotong royong.
“We are very pleased with the quick response from Datuk Yong to approve our request using his assemblyman “Sentuhan Kasih” allocation. He also urge us to carry out the repairs immediately and not let the residents wait long,” said Charles.-BorneoGazette
