Distribution of Covid-19 Food Baskets in Kiulu starts

TUARAN: Distribution of the Covid-19 food basket to needy families in Kiulu started on Tuesday.

Under the first phase, some 360 food baskets were distributed to 30 villages at the distribution centres in Rangalau Baru, Malangang Lama, Pekan Kiulu and Pukak.

According to Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, the State Government has allocated a total of 1,000 food baskets to be distributed to the needy in Kiulu.

“Therefore, we have to ensure that the assistance reaches the targetted group,” said Bangkuai who is also Kiulu Assemblyman when handing over the food baskets to the recipients’ representative.

At the same time, he urged the people to cooperate and strictly comply with the Standard Operations Procedure (SOP) to prevent being infected by the Coronavirus.

“Kiulu has remained a green zone since the outbreak of the pandemic and we must ensure it stays that way until Covid-19 is contained,” he said.
