KOTA KINABALU: Voters may want to bring along an umbrella when going to the polling stations to cast their votes tomorrow.
The Meteorological Department (Met Malaysia) weather forecast showed it may rain in one or two places over West Coast, Interior, Kudat and Sandakan in the morning.
In the afternoon thunderstorm is expected in several places in West Coast, Interior and Sandakan, while rain elsewhere.
In fact, gloomy weather has been forecasted until next Thursday beginning tomorrow.
The 16th State Election has 1,124,598 registered voters who will be choosing their respective representative in the 73 State Assembly seats.
A total of 447 candidates from 14 political organisations, alliances as well as independents have been accepted by the Election Commission to contest.
With 70 per cent of the seats having an average of six candidates, this State Election can be said to be the most heavily contested yet.
New seat, Bengkoka has the most corner with 11 candidates vying for approval from its 11,543 registered voters.
The EC fixed 26 Sept as polling day after the State Assembly was dissolved on July 30. –Borneo Gazette
